Tonto Natural Bridge is one of Arizona’s incredible state parks, and it just so happens to be a short drive from the Inn! It boasts the world’s largest natural travertine bridge. It is truly a sight to behold, and our family always loves visiting and exploring. I like to imagine what it must have been like for the first person who stumbled upon it. What must have crossed their mind? It had to have been completely awe-inspiring!

There are four hiking trails, and you can hike all the way down and go under the travertine bridge. It’s incredible! There are several different hikes of varying difficulty levels, so there’s truly something for everyone. If you don’t want to hike all the way down or have your furry friend with you (there are restrictions on dogs and which trails they can go on), you can visit one of the four observation points. You also won't want to miss the Waterfall Trail, a quick little jaunt where you take steps down to the side of a waterfall and even will get wet from it! It is so beautiful. At the trailhead, there is a visitor center/park store, picnic areas, bathroom facilities, and more. Make sure to get a souvenir in the gift shop!

Our girls love exploring here, and always have a blast searching for wildflowers, ladybugs, and we’ve even seen javelinas roaming the park! I always try to remember to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy while we are there. There are lots of picnic tables, or you can just bring a blanket and spread out on one of the grassy areas.
Make sure to put this beautiful Arizona State Park on your list. Don’t forget – if you have a state parks pass; your entrance fee is free! Without the pass, entrance fee is $7 for ages 14+, and $4 for ages 7-13 and you can drive up and pay cash to enter the park!
