Shopping Small in Pine-Strawberry This Holiday Season

Updated: Dec 12, 2024

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is lovingly picking out gifts for people close to me. There’s nothing like being in a shop, seeing a special item, and knowing it’s PERFECT for your bestie, husband, mom, etc. I love shopping in little local shops whenever possible. As a small business owner, I know how impactful it can be to support other small businesses! Fortunately, we have no shortage of great local spots here in Pine and Strawberry.

Below are a few spots I recommend checking out while you’re here and looking for the perfect gifts! This list is by no means exhaustive, but it should get you off to a great start.

Perpetually one of our family’s favorite stops whether or not it’s a holiday. This is the perfect shop to visit if you have a person in your life who loves gourmet food items. They have honey in every flavor you can imagine, homemade bbq sauces, flavored butters, jams and jellies, and salsas too! They have gift packs that would make a great teacher gift or teacher gift!

Moose Mountain is a great shop with antiques and local handmade items. There is a little bit of everything here, so it’s worth it to take the time to peruse the entire shop.

Fancy Finds is another fun little shop with a mish-mash of items. It’s located in the CUTEST old house. They always have a big Christmas section, so for the Christmas-obsessed person in your life, this might be the place to find the perfect gift for them! You’ll also find local food items, antiques, home décor, and more!

The Pine-Strawberry Farmers Market is open on Fridays and Saturdays, and is absolutely worth a stop. It’s located in the little yellow house next to Ponderosa Market. Make sure to bring cash or check, as they do not accept cards. Here, you can find fresh locally made bread, fudge, locally roasted coffee, seasonal produce, handmade home décor items, and more!

Happy shopping! And Happy Holidays!

Local shops just hit different during the holidays. That feeling of walking into a small store and finding something that's perfect for someone—not just another gift card or mass-produced whatever—that's what makes gift-giving fun. The Strawberry Inn list has some great spots. Fancy Finds in that old house sounds like exactly where I'd spend way too long browsing. Sm all businesses need all the help they can get standing out these days. When you're competing with Amazon and big box stores, you have to get creative. A well-placed digital ad can make a huge difference, especially if it actually stops people from scrolling. Something like rich media display ads that move or react when someone interacts—those grab attention in ways…
