FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
  • CHECK-IN QUESTIONS

    • What's the online check-in process?

      • You'll receive a friendly text from "Mike the Elk" on our team prior to arrival to secure your digital registration card, including photo ID. The online check-in also authorizes a temporary $100 hold (not a charge) on your credit card that will be released after your checkout, just like any other hotel. Your access info will be sent on check in day, at check in time.

    • Is early check-in or late check-out available?

      • We can typically accommodate early/late check-in/out for a minimal fee at the main hotel property (Rooms 1-8) as well as cottages and airstreams in our Lower Park area (not available in Upper Park properties or cabins). Due to cleaning and inspections between guests, we do not offer early/late check-in/out on our private homes or cottages located at the Upper Park.

  • BOOKING QUESTIONS

    • Can I book my room over the phone?

      • It's easy to book online, or you can always give us a call during business hours and we can assist you. Please visit the "Reservations" tab on our site, browse photos and amenities, and reserve the property that's right for you.

    • How much are your rates?

      • The rates vary based on property type and stay date. Pricing is dynamic, meaning that it changes based on availability, time of year, and other factors. View detailed rates and availability by visiting our "Reservations" tab. You can also follow us on social media or sign up for emails for specials and discounts. Most affordable rates are found mid-week or in our shoulder seasons (Feb/April, November).

  • DOGS

    • Can I bring my dog?

      • We love all dogs! Our insurance rider has certain requirements which don't allow us to host certain breeds, so please reach out if you have questions about your specific dog(s)!

      • The rooms on our first floor (Rooms 1-4) are dog-friendly. Cottages 8-17, The Creek Cabin, and Bunkhouse are dog-friendly as well. There is a $39 dog fee per dog, with a max of 2 dogs per property. We'll have a welcome bag just for your pup, including a branded bandana!

    • What are the rules for bringing a dog?

      • Rules are: they must be well trained, on a leash when outdoors, and cannot be left alone in the rooms or parking lot, and we ask you to plan ahead to cover furniture and pick up any waste. There are several pet-friendly places to eat in the area!

    • Can I leave my dog in the room if they are in a crate/kennel?

      • No. We've found that over the years, even the most well-behaved dogs tend to get stressed and noisy when left alone in an unfamiliar place, which causes a disruption to other guests. Please plan to keep your dogs with you during your visit.

    • If you require a service animal, please let us know prior to arrival.

      • Under the ADA, a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability. Guests may be asked what work or tasks the animal has been trained to perform. Emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals are not considered service animals under the ADA.

  • ASSISTANCE DURING YOUR STAY

    • I am currently staying at the Inn, and need some help. Is there an on-site hotel manager?

      • No one is on site, but there are local property managers who are just a phone call away. The phone number for the manager is located in the room and check in info. There is also a Ring doorbell intercom mounted on the wall outside of Room 1 at the main Inn if you don't have cell service.

    • Do you have WiFi at the Inn?

      • We sure do! Our WiFi is available for guests to use with their smartphone or computer, subject to weather and provider service. We are in a very small rural community, so expect things to be at a slower pace than the big city. Please don't try to connect your room TV to the network- it won't work!

  • LODGING OPTIONS

    • How many people can stay in each accommodation type?

      • Yes, Rooms 2 and 3 have the option of connecting when booked together. Each sleep 2 guests, for a combined total of 4 guests between those two rooms.

    • Does the hotel serve breakfast? What are your local recommendations?

      • No, but we are happy to make recommendations for our favorite local breakfast spots! Windmill Coffee located on the inn property also has wonderful breakfast drinks and treats. The private homes (Bunkhouse, Bungalow, Guest House, Creek Cabin) have equipped kitchens for guests who wish to whip up their favorite foods, and all cottages except the Studio & King units have kitchens as well.
  • WEATHER
    • Is it snowing/Will it be snowing during my visit?
      • Perhaps our most asked question! While we wish we had special foresight, we just don't know! The truth is, it's beautiful year-round here with or without snow. Check the weather here for up to date forecasts.
  • CANCELLATION POLICY
    • What is your cancellation policy?
      • As we are a small boutique hotel destination, reservations may be cancelled or changed up to 30 days prior to the arrival date for a full refund, less a 25% cancellation or change processing fee. Any cancellation or change request made within the 30 day arrival window is non-refundable, so make sure your plans are firm before you book.
