It seems every summer in Strawberry our love and appreciation for the fire fighters and forest service workers in our area grows! This summer was no exception with the threat of the Backbone Fire and evacuation literally in our backyards. We are so grateful for their hard work, dedication and bravery as they worked to protect this tiny town we love.
Over the time we were evacuated for Backbone, one of our followers reached out wanting to help. We were blessed to be able to connect their volunteer group with our local fire crew and got to deliver these field supply kits to the department over the holiday weekend. What a great way to give back!
The girls enjoyed a tour of the station and even got to hop in the driver’s seat- great memories for sure! Please smile and wave next time you see our local fire crew around town, we are so grateful and want to make sure they know how appreciated they all are!
I come from a family full of fire fighters, so they have always held a special place in my heart, as well as their families who also sacrifice so they can protect others. As we’ve shared, we were also able to host fire crews during the evacuation, as well as in years past. It’s always an honor to treat them as our VIPs, this year Dan at the Windmill really went above and beyond with special coffee drinks and treats. Our girls have given homemade cards and this year we’ve taken it to a new level with the huge banner hanging over the balcony at the inn- STRAWBERRY ❤️ FIREFIGHTERS.
