Memorial Day Marks The Start of Summer @ The Strawberry Inn!

Updated: May 11, 2022

Oh yes, summer is SO sweet! We're getting back to some of our favorite annual traditions and adding in NEW fun and excitement for our guests this year, too! So... what can you expect when visiting The Strawberry Inn this Memorial Day Weekend & through the summer? We'll tell you!

First off, we want to highlight the importance of Memorial Day as a holiday! It is so important to us that we remember and honor the heroic actions of all of our fallen soldiers and members of the military. We take American holidays very seriously around here - so we definitely like to make Memorial Day a memorable time at our boutique hotel!

Summer Patriotic Decor!

As you may know, we garnish the Inn and our properties with patriotic bunting for the summer months! It's so festive and is one of my favorite seasonal looks for our hotel. We're gearing up to have the property decorated right in time for Memorial Day Weekend! Snap your summer pics in front of the decor and be sure to tag us on socials!

Community Fire Pit & Movie Nights!

If you've been coming to stay with us the last couple of summers, odds are you've been a part of one of our gatherings at the Lower Park Yard. Starting at dusk every Friday & Saturday evening this summer, we'll fire up the fire pits, have snacks on deck and merchandise for purchase, and will hit "play" on a family-friendly movie projected under the stars! We truly love theses special nights that we put on for our guests. More often than not, you'll find our family there, too because we just have the best time! There's something about the glow of the fire and market string lights in the night sky mixed with glasses of wine and kids having fun that we enjoy so much. We also love to meet our guests, so plan to stop by when you visit!

Saturday Morning Yoga Beneath The Pines! We started these morning yoga classes last year and they were such a hit! If you're looking for a peaceful way to begin your day in the mountains, come join us Saturday mornings at 9am. The class is taught by one of our very own staff members, Carrie! She truly delivers a wonderful class filled with mindfulness - and it's able to be done by all skill levels! Pack your yoga mat for your trip, or there will be limited mats available to borrow. The class is $10 cash, you can just bring it with you when you arrive. Be sure to take photos of your best yoga pose and tag us!!!

Rock Painting Extravaganza!

This one is perfect for the kiddos! A relaxing daytime activity where the whole family can enjoy the sounds of the mountains while being creative. Saturdays from 10am-2pm at the Lower Park Yard, we'll have some rocks, paint, and other materials for your little ones to create their own masterpieces. (Be sure to avoid grabbing rocks from our property - we want to preserve our natural ecosystem as much as we can!) We'll have stones provided and once the rocks are done being painted, the artists can go place them along the pathway down to the seasonal creek. We can't wait to see the results once the summer kicks off... it will truly add so much positivity and beauty to our special little creek area.

Duck Donuts Pop Up - Saturday, May 28:

We LOVE Duck Donuts! They had a pop up station with us last summer and our guests and community loved it - so did we! If you have not had one of their donuts, you've got to try! On May 28 from 8am-10am, they will be stopping by in front of our main Inn with a tent and selling some of their delicious creations, some of them are STRAWBERRY flavored! Such a lovely thing to kick start your morning, paired with Windmill Coffee! If you know you'll be in town and wanting some that weekend, they are offering pre-orders by the half dozen for $15. To order, text 480.510.0330.

Pine-Strawberry Arts & Crafts Festival:

This annual event is so much fun for crafters like myself! Taking place from Saturday, May 28 - Sunday, May 29, you can find vendor booths at the Pine Community Center with handcrafted goodies for sale. Learn more HERE.

Live Music & Great Food:

As usual on the weekends, Strawberry & Pine are bustling with restaurant goers at our favorite spots like THAT Brewery, Pinewood Tavern, & Old County Inn! Aside from the delicious food you can find in this small town, the ambiance of listening to the bands play is the best!

Long story short, we've got A LOT planned... and this hopefully isn't even the half of it! We have a lot more summer fun planned to be announced later. This summer is one you won't want to miss... stay tuned!
